A product pass is the tokenization of a produced or sold product. This tokenization makes it possible to assign and store unaltered data to the product, for example, to comply with the EU regulations of the Supply Chain Act.
The product pass can also include comprehensive services and business models of the circular economy or ESG reporting, such as storing performance data or warranties and securing the return of recyclate.
The Vagabond Product Pass allows public and private data storage and referencing when tokenised to protect intellectual property and trade secrets, giving complete control to the data owner.
You can choose between minimal product information to comply with the supply chain law up to extensive product information in the product passport and release it individually for your partners or buyers.
In addition to production information, any other information can be recorded and shared as a reference with the product passport —information such as manufacturer guarantees or product descriptions and product images for the retail trade.

With the Product passport, you can lay the foundation for your LCA and LCM by assigning the used raw materials and processed materials to your product to map and report calculated CO2 emissions.
Vagabond's unique features allow producing subcontractors to inherit calculated and reported CO2 emissions to their buyers without having to forward any raw data. This is made possible by writing emissions immutably to the blockchain along with a reference sum of the underlying raw data. Therefore, it is secure against tampering while ensuring that no critical data has to be shared outside the premise of the data provider.
The Vagabond product passport enables data exchange to be secured, released in a targeted and traceable manner without losing data integrity.
Only data that is required by regulations, such as CO2 production or statement-of-health (SoH) data in the context of a digital battery passport, can be accessed. Data leading to the calculation of such values remain in the owner's data environment and are not accessible without the owner (pre-) approval to a specific partner in the supply chain.
