▫️Validator Node
Easy step by step how-to guide to run a validator node on the VagaChain blockchain network
How to Run a Validator Node
Introduction
Running a VagaChain validator, also known as a full-node, allows the user to participate in the consensus to help achieve agreement, trust, and security across the VagaChain decentralized network. Validators are the foundation of any Proof of Stake Network and their role is to propose and validate new blocks of transactions while ensuring high uptime and server security.
VagaChain Node operators, also known as light-node operators, only observe and do not actively participate in the consensus process. Their role is to create data redundancy in the network and report on the current chain state.
Why Run a Validator Node?
When running your own node, you greatly contribute to the VagaChain blockchain network by increasing safety and decentralization. Nodes also enable faster response times and quick uninterrupted access to the chain state if you have your own dApp interacting with VagaChain.
A validator node is further rewarded by gaining a commission from each block provision and transaction fee, proportional to their staked amount.
Validators node operators also have the opportunity to participate in governance of the blockchain.
Who can run a Validator Node?
During the initial stage of public validator node onboarding, Vagabond will conduct a pre-selection of interested participants to ensure the best possible support experience and to attain high quality validator node operators.
To participate, please refer to the following documentation: Validator Onboarding Program
After the Validator Onboarding Program is concluded, anyone is welcome to run a node or a validator node on the VagaChain blockchain network.
Good to know: Git repository links will only be made available to the selected participants in the currently running Validator Onboarding Program.
Seek Legal Advice:
As always, do your own research and seek legal advice if you intend to run a validator node on the VagaChain network.
